Calculation of Νatural Gas regulated tariffs

Regulated charges, depending on the tariff category, relate to the charges borne by all consumers using the gas infrastructure (i.e. the Greek gas transmission system and the Greek gas distribution network).

For using the Greek Transmission System:

This charge relates to the distribution of natural gas to high-pressure networks. It shall be collected by Protergia in accordance with the legislation and is paid to the Hellenic Gas Transmission System Operator S.A. (“DESFA”) for the use of the transmission networks. It relates to charges fixed by the tariffs co-efficients of the National Natural Gas Transmission System (NNGTS) and by the active capacity booking contracts concluded by the Supplier with DESFA, pursuant to Decision No 352/2016 by RAE (Government Gazette B 3513/1.11.2016). and to Decision No 997/2017 by RAE (Government Gazette B’4737/29.12.2017).

Tariff co-efficient of Booked Transmission Capacity (€/MWh/Day/Year) +Tariff co-efficient of Transmitted Natural Gas Quantity (€/MWh), where

Tariff co-efficient of Booked Transmission Capacity: A charge proportional to the delivery or receipt transmission capacity to an Entry and Exit Point, respectively, in accordance with the provisions of the National Natural Gas System (ESFA) Management Code and the Transmission Agreement concluded with the Operator.

Tariff co-efficient of Transmitted Natural Gas Quantity: A charge proportional to the quantity of natural gas delivered by a transmission user at an entry point or received at an exit point of the Transmission System, in accordance with the provisions of the National Natural Gas System (ESFA) Management Code and the Transmission Agreement concluded with the Operator.

Transmission Tariffs: 
It concerns the transmission of natural gas in medium and low-pressure networks. They are collected by the Supplier in accordance with the legislation and are paid to the Hellenic Gas Transmission System Operator S.A. (“DESFA”) for the use of the transmission networks. These tariffs are determined by the tariffs co-efficients of the National Natural Gas Transmission System based on the ESFA Pricing Regulation (Government Gazette 3181/4-1-2016) and those set out in the Decision No 352/2016 by RAE.

This charge relates to the distribution of natural gas to low and medium-pressure networks. It is collected by Protergia in accordance with the legislation and is paid to Distribution Networks Operators (Natural Gas Distribution Companies) for the use of Distribution Networks. The charges shall include an energy tariff (calculated on the consumption quantity) & a capacity tariff (calculated on the capacity of the meter installed at the delivery point and the period of consumption) based on RAE decisions. The values are derived from the respective Gas Distribution Company of each region.

Capacity Tariff Co-efficient: Fixed tariff (capacity tariff, calculated on the capacity of the meter installed at the delivery point and the consumption period) for the use of the Distribution Network 

Energy Tariff Co-efficient: Proportional tariff (calculated on the amount of consumption) for the use of the Distribution Network 

Distribution Charges:  

They concern the transmission of natural gas in low pressure networks. They are collected by the Supplier in accordance with the legislation and are paid to Distribution Networks Operators (Natural Gas Distribution Companies) for the use of Distribution Networks. The charges include energy tariffs (calculated on the amount of consumption) & Capacity Tariff (calculated on the capacity of the installed meter and the period of consumption) based on RAE decisions 346/2016 and 347/2016 (Government Gazette B’ 3067/26.09.2016). The values are derived from the respective Gas Distribution Company of each region.
