Calculation of Regulated Charges

A+ A-

• For the use of the Hellenic Electricity Transmission System:

This charge covers the operation, maintenance and development costs of the Hellenic Electricity Transmission System, which transmits electricity via high-voltage lines and pylons from power plants to substations in urban areas, so that from there it can reach final consumers through the medium- and low-voltage lines of the Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network.

Calculation formula
(FUC(€/kVA/year) X kVA X Consumption Days/365) + (MMX(€ / kWh) X kWh), where:
FUC: Fixed Unit Charge

VUC: Variable Unit Charge

kW: The maximum hourly demand measurement during peak hours (11:00 - 14:00)
Consumption Days: The number of days in the consumption (billing) period.

• For the use of the Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network:

This charge covers the operation, maintenance and development costs of the Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network (both medium-voltage and low-voltage). It is made up of power charge and electricity charge.

Calculation formula:
(FUC(€/kVA/year) X kVA X Consumption Days/365) + (VUC(€/kWh) X kWh/cosφ)
where:
FUC: Fixed Unit Charge
VUC: Variable Unit Charge
kVA: Kilowatt-hours consumed during the corresponding period
kVA: The maximum hourly demand measurement during peak hours (11:00 - 14:00)
cosφ (Power factor): This is calculated based on the active and reactive power consumption of those customers.
Consumption Days: The number of days in the consumption (billing) period.

• Services of General Interest (SGI):

Under the laws in force, the following services are designated as Services of General Interest (SGI): (a) The supply of power to consumers in non-interconnected islands, at the same tariffs per consumer category with those applying in the country’s mainland; (b) the supply of power at a special tariff to large families, as these are determined pursuant to the applicable laws; (c) the supply of power at a special “Social Residential Tariff” (SRT) to vulnerable consumers, as these are determined by a relevant Ministerial Decision (Decision D5-HL/B/F29/16027/6.8.2010 of the Minister of Environment, Energy and Climate Change, as amended and in force); and (d) the supply of power at a special “Solidarity Services Tariff” (Decision D5-HL/B/F1.21/23824/6.8.2010 of the Minister for the Environment, Energy and Climate Change). Unit charges for SGIs are determined in accordance with the laws in force.
Calculation formula: kWh X Unit charge (€/kWh)

• Special Duty for the Reduction of Air Pollutant Emissions (ETMEAR):

In accordance with the laws in force (article 40 of Law 2773/1999, Government Gazette 286/A/22-12-99), this duty is levied as compensation to the producers of electricity from Renewable Energy Sources (RES). It represents the contribution of all of us to the efforts to reduce air emissions.

Calculation formula: kWh X Unit charge (€/kWh)

The regulated charges are the same for all customers, depending on the invoice category, regardless of the supplier they have chosen and relate to the charges borne by all customers who use the electricity infrastructure (ie the Greek electricity transmission system and the Greek network electricity bills), utility bills and the special emission reduction fee.
